[Summary of Skills]
Having grown up in a multi-racial society, there were in me a certain degrees of understanding for various languages and dialect. My formal education however were based on UK (United Kingdom) English and Singapore Mandarin, both spoken and written.
Being an independent thinker with many years of reasoning experience, I had mastered the art of problem-solving. Keeping calm is not all, a whole-hearted dedication with a fair bit of creativity can make the impossible possible. After-all, all roads lead to Rome.
I have been handling and solving computer problems since the year 1992, thus familiar with OS (Operating System) dating far back to the MS-DOS era. I am pretty confidence with networking, the installation and configuration of hardware/software, and the use of various software applications.
Ever since I got started with the windows registry file in the year 1999, scripts were written and revised for the effective tweaking and managing of windows operating system. The implementation of the windows script engine brought it further. I am still learning as I go along.
I started out with MS-DOS Batch File Programming in the year 1993. Visual C++ and Visual Basic were later picked up. My forte however lies in HTML (HyperText Markup Language), Java Script, VB (Visual Basic) Script, and Perl (Practical Extraction and Report Language) Script.
Being a gammer and a programmer, it is only natural that I meddle into the world of game modding. Skrit and Gas were just two of the most prominent language picked up. Recent projects included Civilization III, Europa Universalis II, Hearts of Iron II and Dungeon Siege II.
[Projects Participation]
Projects were countless during my three years in Temasek Polytechnic. The topic range from GPS (Global Positioning System) to Link Budget Calculation for Satellite Communication to LAN (Local Area Network) to CCS7 (Common Channel Signalling No.7). The list could go on forever as I continues committing myself to more programming project.
My proudest piece of work got to be the Administration and Communications module of the Phoenix System jointly developed with The Weatherlight Freaks. Some other more distinct projects were as mentioned below.
For my SIP (Student Internship Programme) in the year 1997/98, I am assigned the job of technical assistant at WYWY Pte Ltd Servicing Centre helping with the maintenance and servicing of mobile phones, specialised with Nokia.
Using just Visual Basic 5.0, I did my FYP (Final Year Project) in the year 1998/99. The topic was Singapore Cellular System. Simply put, it was a learning software introducing GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) technology.
Despite limited resources and a tighted schedule at NDTC (Navigation and Detection Training Centre), a software was hastily-developed for training purposes using HTML and Java Script in the year 2003. It mimicked the displays of a RSN (Republic of Singapore Navy) warship computer system. The rest is classified.
[Extracurricular Activities]
From the year 1986 to 1991, Life as a Primary School student
Since young, I have cultivated the habit of swimming once a week. Naturally, I joined the school swimming club. Nothing else captures my attention for this period of my childhood.
From the year 1992 to 1995, Life as a Secondary School student
With a strong foundation in swimming, I moved on to join the school swimming team and make it to the inter-school level. Before I leave, I had attained the position of assistant treasurer. Although I had participated in other clubs, it was to earn extracurricular points and not of interest.
From the year 1996 to 2000, Life as a Polytechnic student
After witnessing the power of programming, I hold myself responsible for enhancing this new found skill of mine. The internet had harness the opportunities for programming further. Never before had researching been easier. Learning had been a breeze and oversea communication dirt cheap.
Since year 2000, Life as a young adult
Swimming had been a thing of the past. However, the tradition of cycling as a form of transportation since secondary school carried on. Programming and the internet had not been abandoned. However, I worked more on programming language related to the internet than on unique software.
